LIQUOR STORE CLERK/CASHIER
POSITION TITLE: Retail Liquor Store Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Liquor Store Enterprise
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Liquor Store Manager
STATUS: Part-Time non-exempt
EFFECTIVE: May 1, 2025
Pay Scale: 13.45-20.99 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY
Under supervision of the Liquor Store Manager or Assistant Manager, coordinates and directs floor operations of the establishment, provides retail customer services, merchandises inventory for sale and assists in store maintenance.
JOB DUTIES OR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In addition to what is referenced in the position summary, this position includes but is not limited to the following:
Retail customer service:
- Operate a computer cash register and credit/debit card machine
- Make accurate change and be responsible for cash on hand
- Handles off-sale transactions
- Prepares and serves drinks to customers as well as food or beverages as ordered
- Answer customer questions regarding products and merchandise
- Screen minor and intoxicated persons for purchasing product
Merchandise and Stock Inventory:
- Stock, dust, and straighten product on shelves
- Set up merchandise displays
- Stock coolers
- Maintain back store room in an orderly fashion
- Verify inventory shipments
Store Maintenance:
- Sweep, mop, dust and clean floors and other surfaces on regular
basis as needed
Clean and stock bathroom supplies as needed
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School Diploma or GED
History
Must be able to pass background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Preferred six or more months of bar/off-sale liquor sales experience (willing to train)
Has had experience in:
a) the operation office equipment including adding machine, copier, cash register and computers
b) applying laws related to the sale of liquor
c) using judgment and discretion in sales based on age, state of inebriation and the acceptance of checks
d) bartending methods and practices

Hazards
Somewhat strenuous, repetitive motion in stocking including overhead movement, climbing and crouching. Repetitive motion in drink mixing and money counting. Potential long hours on feet. Exposure to cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pound up to 1/4 of the time.
Surrounding
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and extreme cold (non-weather) conditions up to 1/4 of the time.
The employee is exposed to moderate noise levels.
