Public Works Superintendent

The City of Mentor, Ohio currently has a_ Public Works Superintendent_ opening in our Public Works Department. This is an advanced, professional, and administrative position and requires planning, organizing, and conducting a wide range of maintenance and improvement activities related to public works administration.

Work involves responsibility for

• Scheduling and planning, repair and maintenance projects, coordinating work assignments and contracted projects, supervising, and inspecting work related to city street maintenance, storm sewer maintenance, an emphasis on building maintenance, and other related construction projects.
• The incumbent manages projects to ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently, and effectively, in accordance with standard practices and procedures.
• Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Public Works.
• This position desires graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, civil engineering, or a related field, significant experience in public works construction and maintenance work and infrastructure maintenance, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Demonstrated supervisory experience is required, preferably in a unionized environment.

Expected Salary Range Between: $80,000 - $102,000 depending upon qualifications and experience. This is a salaried position and includes a comprehensive benefit package.
