SUPERVISION
General supervision is provided by the Director of Parks and Recreation. Responsible for supervision of the Mesquite Golf Course staff including: Pro Shop Staff, Snack Bar Staff, Cart Attendants and Golf Course Superintendent.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in managing a golf course or golf related facilities.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
WORK SCHEDULE
Minimum 40 hrs. a week, schedule varies to mimic Golf Course operation days. Sunday-Saturday.

- All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual. Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, programs, policies, procedures, and priorities for the Mesquite Golf Course.
- Manage the organization, staffing, and operational activities of the Mesquite Golf Course including analyzing, evaluating and responding to public needs.
- Understand the operational needs and requirements of food service including inventory control, TABC rules, purchasing regulations; manage pro shop inventory and purchases, pricing structures, product display and marketing.
- Manage the cash handling and daily deposit for all aspects of the Golf Course Division. Ensure cash handling practices meet finance department standards.
- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate golf course personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures; provide timely, accurate and thorough Performance Reviews for supervised employees.
- Direct, coordinate, and review a work plan for the Mesquite Golf Course; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities and projects; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; review with appropriate management staff; implement improvements.
- Participate in the development and administration of the Golf Course Division annual budget; forecast funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; direct the monitoring of and approve expenditures; recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate with other divisions, outside agencies and organizations to meet requested needs; prepare necessary correspondence and course operations data.
- Develop staff reports related to golf course operations and present to Parks and Recreation Advisory Board at monthly meetings.
