What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Program Manager position at City of Miami Beach?
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering design, construction, and regulatory requirements
- Instructs and trains personnel in all technical aspects of engineering
- Reviews, evaluates and reports on City construction, engineering, or utility service operations
- Manages key infrastructure programs, encompassing water distribution, sanitary sewer conveyance, stormwater collection and treatment, bridges, and others.
- Serves as liaison for special coordination with key regulatory and partner government entities.
- Develops and recommends technical standards for inclusion in specifications for public works construction
- Provides strategic planning level and detailed design input
- Performs related work as required
- Performs the duties of a Team Manager, Project Engineer, and Principal Engineer when required
- Communicates clearly, concisely, and comprehensibly in both written and verbal format
- Registered as a Professional Engineer by the State of Florida
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering, surveying, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of major Public Works projects and facilities such as roads, bridges, water, sewer, drainage works, traffic, and coastal protection facilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering surveys
- Comprehensive knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the design and construction of Public Works projects
- Experience managing and training personnel in key aspects of infrastructure engineering planning, design, permitting, and construction management.
- Capable of signing and sealing engineering drawings and documents in accordance with the rules of the Florida Board of Professional Engineers and Florida Statute 61G15-23
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public via the telephone and personal contact
- Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment, such as, but not limited to, word processor, calculator, copier, and fax machine
- Ability to stand, walk, move, or kneel may be required to perform duties
- Physical capability to effectively use field inspection instruments including, but not limited to, cameras, levels, measuring tapes, survey tools, measuring rods, measuring wheels, and paper, bound, or electronic inspection forms/books.
