What are the responsibilities and job description for the RECREATION AIDE, PT position at City of Miami?
This is a part-time position that plans, organizes, and instructs children or adults in various recreational or sports activities.
Serves as instructor/supervisor of recreational activity. May assist in preparing class schedules and lesson plans as required. Collects and keeps record of all activity fees and charges. Keeps activity and attendance reports. Maintains an inventory of recreational equipment used in activity. May assist in various teaching aspects of the therapeutic recreation program. May assist with the supervision of participants with disabilities, as needed. May be required to perform custodial tasks. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. Cleans and sets up room for recreational activity. May be required to perform ground maintenance tasks (i.e., picking up litter on the playground or around recreation facility, garbage disposal, etc.). May be assigned tasks at any of the City’s parks and/or public facilities. Performs other related work as required.
An employee in this classification will report to and work under the direct supervision of the designee in charge of the recreation facility, program, camp, or playground.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Candidates will be subject to a Level II background screening.
Employees will be required to work a minimum of fifteen (15) hours per week.
