Scope of Work
The Summer Benefits Intern will support the Benefits Department by conducting documentation-audits, organizing and verifying employee records, and assisting with data collection and entry to ensure compliance and accuracy. They will also communicate with employees to gather necessary documentation and clarify benefits-related information. Additionally, the intern will provide administrative support to the Health & Wellness Coordinator, assisting with wellness program initiatives, tracking participation, and preparing materials to promote employee well-being. Essential Job Duties
Benefits Department Duties:
- Conduct documentation audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Review and organize employee benefits records and files
- Assist with data collection and entry for benefits tracking and reporting
- Reach out to employees to gather missing information or clarify documentation
- Support the verification of employee eligibility for benefits programs
- Assist in maintaining and updating benefits-related databases
- Prepare reports summarizing audit findings and data insights
- Help streamline benefits documentation processes
- Assist in coordinating wellness initiatives, such as fitness challenges or health screenings
- Help organize and distribute wellness program materials
- Track employee participation in wellness programs and compile reports
- Support in developing and promoting educational resources related to health and wellness
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed
- Handle confidential information with discretion
- Assist in scheduling meetings and organizing department events
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR team
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work in person at the designated workplace location.
- Must be available to commute to and work on-site during regular business hours.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Currently pursuing or recently-completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in administrative support, data entry, customer service, or HR-related tasks is a plus.
- Proficiency in Canva and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interest in learning about Human Resources and pursuing a career in the field.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and contribute to the team.
