What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Technician position at City of Minnetonka?
Provide technical assistance and maintenance support for PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, audio visual devices, business applications, and other office equipment. This position serves as the primary help desk support to users.
- Provide first line response for users requiring assistance with information technology issues and problems.
- Provide technical assistance and maintenance support for the City’s IT hardware, software, mobile devices, AV equipment, network, as well as printers, scanners, copiers, and other peripherals
- Tracks and prioritizes requests utilizing the help desk system
- Performs replacement of PC’s, laptops, and office equipment based on the city’s capital replacement plan
- Assist with distributing, configuring, and maintaining city-issued mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.)
- Performs post-resolution follow-ups with end-user and team members as necessary
- Initiate hardware, software, and printer service calls with vendors
- Participate in new hire IT onboarding. Trains new hires on use of city technology and best practices
- Assist with implementation and integration of new technologies.
- Assist with basic CISCO VoIP phone support, and the City's IP-based video surveillance systems as required.
- Performs other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position as apparent or assigned.
- Associate's Degree in computer science, information systems, or other related technical field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree.
- Two (2) years of recent experience with troubleshooting and set up of PC's, laptops, AV equipment, copiers and printers, including experience in providing office support to users of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- One (1) year of recent experience working with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange server.
- One (1) year experience supporting iOS devices
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends, evenings and early mornings.
- Must have valid MN driver's license
- Mobile device management (MDM) software experience
- Local government work experience
- Experience working with outside vendors
- Experience with BCA, CJIS, and PCI Security compliance
- Experience supporting Microsoft OneNote
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
