What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utilities Seasonal Maintenance position at City of Minnetonka?
Seasonal utility maintenance employees perform manual, unskilled and semi-skilled work for the city's water and sanitary sewer systems.
Work hours are 6:30 am to 2:30 am, Monday through Friday. 40 hours per week.
This seasonal position is eligible for a $.50 / $1.00 per hour bonus program. Bonus amounts are based off of the number of hours worked while in the seasonal role. Full bonus criteria and eligibility details will be provided to all finalists.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in repair or replacement of manholes, hydrants, gate valves and curb stops.
- Assist in sewer jetting, sewer inspections, lift station maintenance and facility locating.
- Landscape work including sodding, backfilling dirt/seeding, mowing and weed whipping.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Assisting sanitary sewer televising operations
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Assist with general maintenance on equipment, including: refueling, changing oil, lubricating parts, making minor adjustments, as necessary.
- Assist in maintaining other utility facilities.
- Assist other work divisions and departments when assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Punctual.
Knowledge of:
- Operation, maintenance and repair of light equipment.
- Equipment and hand tool usage.
- Basic safety methods.
Ability to:
- Work productively, efficiently and safely.
- Work in a team setting with a variety of individuals.
- Work independently with varied supervision.
- Carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to safely operate motor vehicles.
