What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Engagement Coordinator position at City of Missouri City?
Develops and maintains robust citizen engagement programs that foster connections between the City of Missouri City and the public. Builds strong relationships with the Missouri City Community by acting as an informant and consultant between the City of Missouri City and its homeowners associations (HOA). Supports City staff and residents through management of community and neighborhood issues. Assists all City Departments with public engagement planning and activities with the residents of Missouri City.
- Informs the community of policy directions of the government and addresses issues within the community to promote well-being, government awareness, and understanding.
- Prepares memos/reports regarding HOA and public engagement meetings and neighborhood issues.
- Coordinates and organizes City Council District Town Hall and other public meetings.
- Aids in constituent service as needed by researching, answering questions and complaints, and making referrals to the appropriate department.
- Creates and manages Development Engagement Plans.
- Manages City’s HOA outreach programs, partnering with multiple departments and serving as the City's liaison to homeowner associations; attends HOA meetings and coordinates quarterly meetings and facilitates City staff attendance at these meetings; responds to citizens' questions and maintains HOA contact information.
- Assist with managing and coordinating the Volunteer Programs and partnering with stakeholders.
- Builds and maintain a professional working relationship with employees and city management, including the Leadership Team and City Council.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Subject to 24-hour recall.
Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Political Science, or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of relevant community engagement-related experience.
The Department of Human Resources & Organizational Development may consider an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Salary : $44,425 - $66,639
