What are the responsibilities and job description for the Signal Technician II position at City of Missouri City?
This is a full-time (Operatives) position in the City's Public Works Department. An individual in this position will be responsible for providing technical support to the Traffic Department. Reporting relationship: Traffic Operations Manager.
Must obtain International Municipal Signals Association(IMSA) Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certification and Traffic Signal Level II Certification within one (1) year. Valid Class C CDL Texas Driver's License (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).The Department of Human Resources & Organizational Development may consider an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Conducts normal and preventative maintenance, installation, inspection and repair to the City's traffic signal systems to ensure proper operations at all times;
- Responds promptly to all call-outs, including after hours and holidays; troubleshoot, diagnose, and/or take corrective action to restore the City's traffic signal systems to full and optimal operation;
- Requisition and install parts to repair the City's traffic signal system;
- Evaluate signal timing, adjust signal timing, and make recommendations for signal timing changes;
- Performs recordkeeping activities pertaining to traffic signal timing plans, inventories, maintenance activities, and construction plan sheets;
- Develop schedules and coordinate preventative maintenance activities to ensure proper and efficient operations of the City's traffic signal systems;
- May direct activities of Signal Technician I;
- Performs other related duties as assigned;
- Subject to 24-hour recall.
