Description and Terms of Employment
The Lead 4K Wraparound Teacher is responsible for overseeing a classroom of 4K-aged students in a childcare program before and / or after the children's district 4K class. This individual will plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and actively participate in the daily activities of a group of children to engage students. They will also monitor the safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and other duties as necessary and as assigned by a supervisor.
This is a full-time / full year position (40 hours per week) with full benefits. Work schedule follows the City of Monona calendar. This person will work as a 4K wrap teacher during the school year, full days when children do not have 4K (during the school year), and also leading a summer camp program in the summer. There will be opportunities to move within the K-4th grade care program on certain low attendance days. Projected shifts start between 7am and 9am and end between 4pm and 6pm.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver a fun program to children.
- Plan daily and weekly activities.
- Transport children walking to and from school, as well as other walking field trips, during all types of weather.
- Ensure that children know and follow safety and educational procedures during programs.
- Assist in the management and care of facilities and equipment in all program areas.
- Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, daily attendance, and participant information.
- Communicate with parents about participants' experiences and report concerns to leadership.
- Help guide Counselors-in-Training with daily tasks.
- Ensure that activities and groups maintain adequate coverage and sub as needed.
- Identify and respond to children's behavioral issues.
- Ensure each child is having a positive experience.
- Be responsible for the health, safety, whereabouts, and welfare of children in general, and specifically children assigned to your program area and group.
- Work cooperatively with leadership, counselors and support staff to make the program run safely and effectively.
- Perform other duties as they arise, including taking photographs, liaising with parents, attending field trips, and helping with any organizational work.

Life Insurance : provided through the State of Wisconsin Group Life Insurance Program, the City contributes to the premium for insurance up to 2x annual salary. Employees can purchase insurance up to 5x their annual salary, plus spouse and dependent coverage, at their own expense.
Income Continuation Insurance : also provided through the State of Wisconsin's plan, this benefit provides income replacement for up to 75% of current salary for a short-term disability. The City provides this benefit with a 6-month elimination period. More insurance and shorter elimination periods can be purchased at the employee's expense.
Vacation : paid vacation is provided on a vacation schedule beginning with 8 days during the first year of employment, 13 days in years 1-6, 18 days in years 7-16, and 23 days after 16 years.
