GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
Performs general clerical support work assisting with the collection of funds for participants in the Summer Day Camp Program at the Monroe Aquatic and Fitness Center. This is a seasonal position requiring availability from March through August each year. Work is performed under the supervision of the Monroe Aquatic and Fitness Center Superintendent.
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires reaching, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS
Receiving and processing of payment, maintaining of records and preparation of reports and documents for the Day Camp Program. Receives and maintains records of payment for camp fees. Maintains paperwork, reports and accounts payable documentation. Provides updates on balances due to Monroe Aquatics and Fitness Superintendent. Completes end of season reports including camp attendance and balance report. Assists with preparing the registration and receipt books for Summer Day Camp. Assists in revising forms. Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
General knowledge of billing and collection terminology, methods, procedures and equipment, general knowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment; knowledge of record keeping procedures and practices; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions, ability to follow work procedures, ability to perform mathematical computations; detailed oriented and organization skill; knowledge in Microsoft Office Excel Software; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school with general bookkeeping experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic First Aid certifications. Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.
