Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in park maintenance and in the operation of the Surf n' Slide Water Park. Assist with the operations of the Moses Lake parks and recreation facilities, buildings and grounds. This position's schedule will be 7:30 am - 4 pm or 9 pm - 7:30 am during the months of June, July, and August.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists seasonal and full-time staff with park maintenance and repairs.
- Performs maintenance and minor repairs of the Surf ‘n Slide Water Park.
- Vacuums water bodies utilizing specialized equipment.
- Monitors security control of the Surf ‘n Slide Water Park and McCosh Park.
- Assists with park development projects.
- Operates power equipment and electric power tools.
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs on buildings and grounds.
- Assist with special events preparations.
- Additional related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work independently and with other staff.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to wear approved and proper work attire to follow safe working conditions.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Parks Maintenance Foreman assigns work in terms of very general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include city and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The purpose of this position is to provide overnight on-site supervision, cleaning, and maintenance at the Surf ‘n Slide Water Park and McCosh Park.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
None.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency and experience which provides sufficient knowledge to competently perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the essential functions of the position.
Possession of a valid Washington State Driver’s License at time of hire.
