Street Department

Join our dedicated team and make a difference in our community as a Street Department Laborer! This vital role helps ensure the safety and functionality of our city’s streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and public areas.
• Operate various equipment, including construction machinery, snowplows, and dump trucks.
• Install and repair concrete roadways, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
• Repair potholes, cracks, and other street surface damages.
• Install and maintain street signs and traffic signals.
• Assist with emergency responses, such as snow removal and storm cleanup.
• Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in public areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in street maintenance, concrete finishing, or related fields (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Additional Requirements

• Employees must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within the first six months of employment, with assistance provided by the city.
• Employees with a CDL are eligible for a higher pay grade.
