Deputy Treasurer/Utility Billing Supervisor – The City of Mt. Pleasant is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be organized, able to manage multiple priorities, interpret financial data, and share complex ideas with ease. Establishing and maintaining positive/effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and funding agencies is an expectation. This is a frontline service department working closely with a large variety of internal and external customers on a daily basis. We believe in the art of customer service and are looking for an individual who will uphold our longstanding high standards related to each interaction with our customers and internal teams alike.
An Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Strong communication skills, proficiency in widely accepted accounting software, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. The successful candidate must be committed to professional growth and possess or be able to obtain both Michigan Municipal Treasurer Association (MiCPT) and Association of Public Treasurers (CPFIM) certifications within a designated timeline.
The work schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Hiring wage is in the mid $60,000’s annually, depending on qualifications.
