The City of Napa is currently seeking a Water Control Systems Analyst in our Water Treatment Division in the Utilities Department. The City of Napa Utilities Water Division supplies clean, safe, reliable drinking water to over 86,000 customers throughout the City of Napa and unincorporated Napa County. The Department includes three sections including engineering and administration, distribution, and water treatment. The control systems & electrical team is an integral part of the treatment section. The Utilities Department owns and operates two conventional water treatment plants (20 MGD each) that treat water from the State Water Project and from a City owned reservoir and a third seasonal treatment plant (3MGD) that treats another smaller but pristine local reservoir.

As the Water Control Systems Analyst, you will report to the Water Control Systems Superintendent, and be responsible for designing, developing, commissioning and troubleshooting control system components including HMIs, SCADA systems, virtualized servers, PLCs, instrumentation and communication systems to enhance equipment reliability and meet operational needs. You will also be tasked with upgrading existing systems as new technology dictates, patching systems to maintain cyber-security compliance and to mitigate cyber risks. The selected candidate will require hands-on experience with control systems, manage multiple internal projects simultaneously, and develop detailed manuals and technical documentation.

The control systems & electrical team plays a critical role in ensuring 24/7 operational uptime by maintaining stability and reliability of SCADA and control system components by continuously monitoring system performance, identifying anomalies and responding to emergency needs as required.
