EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including collective bargaining, discipline, grievances, employment discrimination, and employee benefits.Develop and implement collective bargaining strategies for management’s consideration and facilitate negotiations as needed.Represent the City in labor arbitrations, grievances, and other disputes, working closely with city departments and officials to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations.Conduct legal research, draft opinions, policies, and other legal documents, and provide training on labor and employment matters to City employees and officials.Collaborate with other members of the legal team and City departments to address and resolve legal issues in a timely and effective manner.Maintain a high level of professionalism, ethical standards, and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
