General Definition of Work
The City of New Bern is seeking organized, flexible, customer focused Facility Attendants (four part-time positions available; up to 20 hours per week) to assist with the operation of our brand new state-of-the-art Stanley A. Essential Functions / Typical Tasks
Opening and closing recreation facility; setting up / tearing down for programs and events; registering participants and collecting fees.

- Opens and closes the recreation facility as assigned.
- Facility setup / tear down for programs and events.
- General cleaning of facility.
- Monitors the front desk and / or fitness center.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the facility and equipment (fitness, sports, tables, etc.).
- Registers participants.
- Collects fees.
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Performs related tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of recreation facility operations; skill and ability in cash handling; answering telephone calls with proper etiquette; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, program participants, and the general public.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and at least 6 months experience in customer service, facility maintenance, recreation or related programs and / or training.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must work nights, weekends, and holidays, as required. Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina is required. Possession of First Aid / CPR certification or must be obtained during the initial six (6) months of employment.
