Join the City of New Brighton's Administration team! The Administration Department includes the People Operations Lead, along with the functions of IT, DEI, and City Clerk's Office/Communications. This role also manages leave requests, leads benefits and personnel communications, and enforces company policies. This position serves as a partner to Department Directors in meeting operational needs and requires a high level of organization, the ability to build relationships, and manage multiple initiatives. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Leads recruitment and selection processes in accordance with state and federal laws, coordinates with hiring managers to interview and select candidates, leads communications with candidates, and manages HRIS system.Manages employee records, initiates personnel action forms, and administers wage change, anniversary recognition, and employment verification processes; maintains confidential personnel and medical files.Maintains and updates compensation and classification system, including job descriptions, job evaluations, and regular maintenance of the City’s pay plan; responds to salary survey requests.Facilitates annual performance management evaluation and open enrollment processes.Leads and/or serves on employee committees as assigned.Administers a variety of human resources programs including maintaining compliance with federal and state laws, the Data Practices Act, FMLA, drug testing (DOT), posting required notices, annual EEOC reporting, triennial pay equity reporting, submitting annual League of Minnesota Cities salary survey, union reporting, and bringing resolution to personnel investigations, discipline, and performance improvement matters.Updates and implements human resources policies, plans, and procedures across the city; generates communications to regarding all-staff announcements, policy changes, and benefits.Provides direct support on recurring and special projects such as streamlining systems, union negotiations, diversity equity & inclusion initiatives, process improvements, training opportunities, and leadership development.The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from this role as long as the work is similar, related, or logical to the position.
