What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Land Application Technician position at City of New Iberia Municipal Civil Service?
Positions in this class treat, remove, transport and dispose, through agricultural land application, of municipal waste water plant residuals under strict environmental regulation. Operates belt press, sludge de-watering equipment at a municipal waste water treatment plant, loads and transports properly dehydrated sludge; treats using lime stabilization process, operates dump trucks, applies sludge to agricultural land using spreading, spraying, chopping equipment according to established procedures. Under established guidelines, takes samples, measures acidity, adds lime as necessary. Makes minor repairs and adjustments to belt presses, pumps, wash down and sanitation equipment. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications
-Completion of High School or equivalent required.
-A valid Louisiana commercial driver’s license Class A or B with air brake and tanker endorsement. Must also meet the general requirements of the City’s auto insurance company.
- Must pass the Civil Service Exam, the post-offer drug screen, physical, and functional pre-placement testing.
- Must be a qualified registered voter; verification must accompany the application.
