What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Career Coach position at City of New Orleans?
The MSYEP department is looking for technology savvy, enthusiastic individuals, with a background in case management or career exploration and does not mind traveling to various sites around the city.
Responsibilities
Interview youth to gather and evaluate information related to prior work experience.
Develops community work sites for program participants, including interfacing with employers, managing work site agreements, and providing oversight of meaningful, age-appropriate job tasks.
Provides services to participants specifically in workforce readiness and job success.
Matches job ready participants with available work site positions.
Assist with orientation and information sessions for participants.
Manages participant assessment and provides instructive feed-back when necessary.
Maintains all required documentation, such as timesheets, termination, transfer documentation and reports in an organized, detailed and complete manner.
Conducts related administrative work as required; and
Acts as a positive role model to all participants.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work, Education or related field or associate’s degree and two years of full-time relevant experience; experience in education, counseling, and working with youth.
