JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Maintenance Operations Director, the purpose of the position is to coordinate activities between solid waste collectors and the City while performing advanced office and field supervision work in the enforcement of City Ordinances and the State litter law. The position performs a variety of clerical, technical and administrative work, coordinating the solid waste and recycling programs for the City; monitors solid waste collection activities to ensure compliance with the Solid Waste Ordinance and contract terms; responsible for investigating complaints, enforcing codes, and documenting violations to include illegal dumping, lot clearing, and nuisance trees. Incumbent works independently in the field, making decisions requiring the use of independent judgement, discretion and diplomacy.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; and,
- Three (3) years’ experience as a Solid Waste Compliance Officer; or
- Any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Level 1 Code Enforcement Certification is preferable.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Florida Driver’s license.
- Must obtain Florida Association of Code Enforcement Level I certification within one (1) year.
