At the NYC Department of Buildings, we are responsible for ensuring the safe and lawful use of buildings and properties by enforcing the NYC Construction Codes, Energy Code, and Zoning Resolution. About the Team
The IT Operations Help Desk is the primary intake for all IT requests, notification of systems issues, and general inquiries. As new systems are developed or business units are added to existing systems, the number of requests increase weekly. The Help Desk receives several hundred requests a week, including password resets, Outlook issues, and general outages. The intern will assist with PC configuration and set up as well as work on PC related issues. Additional duties include assessing and responding to individual issues submitted to IT (ticketing), software resolution, and hardware resolution.
NOTE: This summer internship is for up to 13 weeks, starting from the first day of the internship and ending no later than September 5, 2025. Interns are expected to work 35 hours per week in person.
Position Responsibilities:
-Work in or manage a service desk environment
-Work on system projects
-Work with ticket system, SERVICENOW, OTI.
-Create tickets for the DOB staff as requests are submitted
-Handle simple IT tasks such as: reset user password, moving PCs, basic Excel spreadsheet reviews, and Pivot Table creation
Major/ Field of Study
-Preferred candidates must be enrolled in Computer Science, or a related field.

Qualifications
As of June of the Program year the prospective interne must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.
