Under the general supervision of the Records Unit Sergeant, the Public Safety Officer performs a wide variety of administrative, secretarial and clerical activities related to the day-to-day operation of the Division.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Compile information necessary to prepare reports and summaries requested by the Chief of Police.Answer calls for the office of the Chief of Police and forward accordingly.Handle telephone inquiries related to job duties in a courteous and professional manner to ensure the caller is confident his/her questions or concerns have been properly addressed. Perform filing, computer data entry and extraction, and other clerical duties. Comply with public records requests and general inquiries for information.Perform all job duties in an accurate, professional, and timely manner. Maintain an acceptable level of competence, professionalism, and ability to ensure duties are performed as outlined in this job description.
