Ohio State Highway Patrol Lateral Cadet Requirements
Applicants MUST be or have:
- United States Citizen
- 20 to 39 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at the 30th percentile on the Cooper Standards (Fitness Standard) to enter
- Must have 2 years or 4160-hour equivalent law enforcement experience in the preceding 2 years with an Ohio agency OR 1 year or 2080-hour equivalent law enforcement experience with an Ohio agency AND the successful completion of an Ohio peace officer basic training program at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy.
- Must have a current OPOTA certificate
- Valid Drivers License
