Performs highly skilled electromechanical work which utilizes diverse tools and equipment necessary to perform maintenance and repairs of process equipment associated with the utility treatment facilities and booster stations. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator.
Licenses and Certifications:

- Performs advanced predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance tasks on electromechanical process equipment related but not limited to treatment facilities and booster station process equipment.
- May lead, direct, or train other technical employees.
- Ensures that all activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Recognizes occupational hazards utilizing safety precautions required by industry regulations.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair 480-volt motor control centers.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and calibration activities within the computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) platform to include asset identification, labor hours, equipment, and materials.
- Operation of various heavy equipment including but not limited to man lifts, forklifts, cranes, generators, bypass pumps and excavations. Also responsible for the proper OEM safe use and inspections of such equipment.
- Completes all original equipment manufacturer (OEM) lubrication requirements for rotating process equipment, actuators, gearboxes, and bearings.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and install various types of process pumps, motors, and associated piping according to OEM standards.
- Maintenance and replacement of manually, hydraulically, electrically operated process valves, and isolation slide gates.
- Participates in rotating on-call schedule and after-hours emergency response.
- Repairs, removal, and replacement of large diameter process piping.
- Perform maintenance and safety inspections related to fixed overhead cranes.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Ensures safe proper use and care of city owned vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Proficient in to troubleshoot and repair chemical metering pumps.
- Proficient to safely troubleshoot and repair 480-volt motor control centers.
- Proficient of maintenance, repair, and replacement procedures for facility process equipment.
- Proficient of the occupational hazards to ensure a safe working environment per industries regulations, proper use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Proficient of OEM lubrication requirements of rotating process equipment.
- Proficient of proper repair or replacement of process piping per industry standards.
- Proficient of proper use of all hand tools, electrical meters, and safety equipment.
- Proficient to operate process equipment for general plant system maintenance.
- Ability to comprehend instructions to complete work assignments in an efficient accurate manor.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods within moderate to extreme environment.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, participates with on-call rotations, and emergency response.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with city employees, vendors, and contactors.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate specialized process equipment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to respond in a professional manner to complaints or inquiries from a variety of sources.
- Ability to efficiently utilize all software required to perform essential requirements.
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Applicable Technical College and Vocational Degree preferred.
- Applicable industry training certificates preferred.
- Six (6) years of experience with industrial, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance. Repair and replacement of electromechanical process equipment and systems associated with water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, and distribution systems.
- Industrial maintenance and construction experience preferred.
- Metal and pipe fabrication experience preferred.
- Industrial electrical experienced preferred.
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience preferred.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience preferred.
