What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Field/Gym Supervisor position at City of O'Fallon, IL?
Job Summary:
Field/Gym supervisors will report directly to the program directors. They will be responsible for all gameday/practice day operations. Field supervisors will oversee baseball/softball/soccer/lacrosse. Gym supervisors will oversee basketball and other indoor activities. This position will oversee officials, umpires, general staff, scorekeepers, clock operators, and program participants.
The Field/Gym Supervisor supervises recreational soccer games varying from ages 3yrs old-8th grade. Maintain standards of play as well as sports policies and to ensure that game rules are observed by participants, spectators, and soccer referees. Works directly with the public and is responsible for contributing to a fun and safe environment for friendly competition.

- Hourly, non-exempt

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Watch over sports fields, answer questions & trouble shoot problems on game and practice nights
- Make sure equipment is out and available for player use.
- Inspect sporting equipment and/or examine participants to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations.
- Officiate games in the absence of soccer officials
- Provide constructive feedback to sports officials during games
Essential Skills/Abilities/ Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age-Required.
- Ability to work days, nights, and weekends-Required.
- Must be able to prove reliable transportation-Required.
- A valid work Permit- Required.
- Must be able to pass a background check- Required.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work long hours in outdoor temperatures
- Some work is accomplished in an outdoor environment, subject to weather fluctuations (wide range of temperatures and inclement conditions)
- Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, or squat for long periods of time
- Running related to the job duties will be occasionally necessary
- Ability to communicate effectively, included but not limited to speaking and listening
