Seasonal Public Works Maintenance

This job may work with the Water, Wastewater & Streets Divisions performing a variety of maintenance duties pertaining to the overall operation of Public Works facilities. This is intended to be a youth job training program, however other applicants will be considered.
Essential Duties
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- mowing,
- painting curbs & sign posts,
- litter pick up & disposal,
- other cleaning,
- inventory,
- weeding & manual labor including lifting & moving heavy materials occasionally
Requires:
- High school diploma or equivalent (ability to read and write the English language);
- Minimum age to apply is 18 due to insurance requirements;
- A valid driver's license & clear driving record;
- Ability to use or learn to use a wide variety of tools and equipment;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Self-motivation and the ability to work with limited supervision;
- Regular and predictable attendance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and other unpleasant outdoor conditions;
- Ability to lift 50 pounds;
- Able to have repetitive motion of the hands, wrists, arms;
- Ability to twist, squat, kneel, bend, stand for long periods of time, and jog a short distance.
Salary : $20
