YOUR DAY AS A RECREATION SPECIALIST-ATHLETICS
As a Full-Time Recreation Specialist-Athletics for the City of O'Fallon, you will play a vital role in shaping the community's recreational landscape. You will plan, develop, and supervise a diverse range of recreational activities while overseeing part-time staff through hiring, training, and scheduling. Your responsibilities will include greeting visitors, providing information, and ensuring an efficient operation of the recreation complex. You will research data, prepare reports, and manage program participant information. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Knowledge of recreation program development and implementation.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
- Knowledge of the management of recreation facilities and equipment
- Knowledge of city policies and procedures including purchasing and budgeting procedures.
- Skill in the supervision of personnel.
- Skill in the use of office equipment such as a computer calculator and copier
- Skill in interpersonal relations
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to three years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain certification in CPR.
- Certified Parks and Recreation professional preferred.
- Youth and Adult Sports experience
