What are the responsibilities and job description for the Code Enforcement Officer position at City of Ocala?
This position is responsible for enforcing the City of Ocala Code of Ordinance sections, along with state and local laws that pertain to nuisances, building, zoning, signage, business tax receipts and contractor certification. This includes the permitting regulations for building, signage, sidewalk cafes, and alcohol location permits, etc. This job may require a flexible work schedule and intermittent work on a weekend day when required. Reports to Code Enforcement and Parking Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required. Must have two (2) years minimum experience in Code Enforcement, sworn Law Enforcement, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, or training involving regulatory enforcement, investigations, or related fields.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Operators Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
