What are the responsibilities and job description for the P/T Seasonal Recreation Aide I - Croskey Center position at City of Ocala?
1. Assists in conducting activities which may require performance of tasks outdoors under varying climatic conditions. Distributes equipment for games. Records center attendance.
2. Assists in maintaining order and discipline. Checks equipment to assure that it is clean and in proper working order.
3. Assists in instructing sewing, ceramics, arts and crafts, dancing, and games.
NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Performs related clerical work.
2. Copies center schedule for distribution to the administrative office.
3. Answers telephone and gives information on center activities and schedules.
4. Direct customer service is performed with City employees and with the general public in person, by telephone, and two-way radio.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to read and write. Follows oral and written instructions. Minimum of 3 - 6 months experience dealing with general public/customer service required.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Florida Operator Driver's License preferred.Knowledge of one or more activities involved in a community recreation program. Knowledge of the aims of a community recreation program. Ability to instruct program participants in varied recreational activities. Ability to work effectively with co-workers, the general public, and children. Ability to communicate clearly and courteously to assist others.
