City of Ormond Beach Job Description Account Clerk Summary : Performs customer service, accounting, and administrative tasks in the accounting and utility billing areas of the Finance Department. Essential duties and responsibilities listed below may vary based on the employee's assignment within the department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Serves as front line customer service representative for all utility billing account services.Performs all necessary functions to initiate new utility customer accounts on City's software system, including setting services and rates for new locations and verifying billing information. Receives, enters, and balances cash and credit card receipts for utility customers, building permits, occupational licenses, and other City department accounts, and prepares related bank deposits.Maintains daily batch information; balances deposit slips, credit card reports, and ACH debits / credits. Prepares bank reconciliation for all City receipts.Performs administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and preparing reports. Must be available for overtime and emergency call-outs when necessary.Assists in preparation for, response to, and recovery from, the impacts of a wide variety of disasters or emergency situations and may be temporarily assigned to other duties, locations, and shifts.Meets attendance requirements.Promotes positive customer service environment internally and externally.Performs other job related functions as assigned.
