Job Description
Part Time Recreation Leader (EDC)
Summary :
Leads recreational program activities and special events. Supports Center Coordinators in planning and instructing classes, workshops, camp programs and seminars. Other activities may include general administrative work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Assists with set-up and tear-down of organized recreational programs, camps, and special events.
Acts as museum docent and greeter, provides guided tours and handles animal ambassadors.
Communicates regularly with participants, community groups, and volunteer organizations.
Performs light cleaning and organizing of museum exhibits, classroom, fish tanks and terrariums.
Performs opening and closing procedures.
Assists with garden / landscape maintenance on EDC grounds.
Must meet attendance requirements and be available for weekend shifts, overtime and emergency call-outs when necessary.
Assists in preparation for, response to, and recovery from, the impacts of a wide variety of disasters or emergency situations and may be temporarily assigned to other duties, locations, and shifts.
Promotes positive customer service environment internally and externally.
Performs other job-related functions as assigned.

Education and / or Experience :
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent recognized certificate. Experience in general office work and recreational program planning preferred.
Qualification Requirements :

Possession of a valid Florida drivers' license.
CPR and First Aid training to be completed within three months of hire.
Knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office programs, and database management.
Ability to operate office equipment and software necessary for job function.
Ability to interact in a positive manner with children and adults.
