With nearly 50 parks, miles of scenic coastline, and a passion for bringing the community together, our department is dedicated to making recreation accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
What You’ll Be Doing: As a Part-Time Recreation Assistant, you’ll play a key role in keeping kids and families active and engaged by: Assisting with our afterschool enrichment program—leading activities, ensuring a safe environment, and keeping the fun going!Helping plan and run summer camp—creating memorable experiences for kids through games, crafts, and outdoor adventures.Setting up and breaking down for special events—from holiday celebrations to community gatherings.Providing excellent customer service and helping families feel welcome.Assisting with program curriculum, collecting applications, and supporting participant registration.Opening and closing the facility and ensuring proper use of the center.Helping resolve small conflicts and creating a positive environment for everyone.Supporting department-wide initiatives like community outreach and event promotions.What We’re Looking For: We need a team player who embodies St. Johns County’s core values of compassion, innovation, and trustworthiness.
