Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team in the Public Works Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating light and heavy equipment, as well as performing manual labor tasks related to maintaining the city's infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintaining streets, storm water systems, parks, water facilities, and sewer systems
- Operating light and heavy equipment such as trucks, tractors, and excavators
- Performing manual labor tasks including excavation, landscaping, and construction work
- Assisting with snow removal and ice control operations during winter months
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights
- Previous experience with operating heavy equipment an asset
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. They must also be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. A regular schedule of 40 hours per week is expected, with overtime possible during peak periods.
