The City of Ottumwa is looking for lifeguards for this Spring / Summer!
We have openings for seasonal lifeguards at The Beach Ottumwa. You will need excellent customer service and communication skills. The successful candidate will be hard-working, flexible and reliable. The position will require flexible schedule with ability to adjust to day, night, holidays, and weekend work.
Core Duties
- Patrol or monitor all areas
- Rescue distressed persons, using rescue techniques and equipment
- Examine injured persons and administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, if necessary, using training and medical supplies and equipment
- Maintain quality of pool water by testing chemical levels
- Provide safety precaution information as needed
- Observe activities in assigned areas, to detect hazards, disturbances, or safety infractions
