What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Engineer I or II position at City of Palm Coast?
The position will be under management direction and primarily concentrate on providing engineering and project management support for utility infrastructure and utility capital improvement projects, provide engineering assistance to utility operations staff and perform engineering analysis. Employees in this classification perform at a professional level and are accountable for planning, development, and management of projects in compliance with all applicable City / State / Federal codes and regulations according to all acceptable engineering practices. Employee works with a high degree of independence and initiative.
All positions require a High School Diploma or GED and a valid Florida Driver's License.
Utility Engineer I - A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field is required; possess or ability to obtain Florida Board of Professional Engineer's (PE) license within six (6) months of employment. Two (2) years responsible technical experience in engineering; or an equivalent of combination of education, training, and experience.
Utility Engineer II - A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field is required; Florida Board of Professional Engineer's (PE) license. Five (5) years responsible technical experience in engineering; Maintenance of Traffic certification; or an equivalent of combination of education, training, and experience.
