What you'll do:
This position is an entry-level role that provides support for the Service Desk and assists the senior IT staff with various tasks and projects. The incumbent can learn and develop skills in network, server, cloud, and desktop administration. This position requires a basic knowledge of IT concepts and practices, as well as a willingness to learn about new technologies and take on challenges.
- Provides technical support to end users via phone, email, chat, or remote access.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to hardware, software, network, and security.
- Installs, configures, updates, and maintains Juniper Mist AI, Microsoft 365, Copilot, Endpoint Manager, and other IT systems and applications.
- Monitors and optimizes the performance, availability, and security of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Creates and manages user accounts, groups, permissions, and policies.
- Documents and reports IT incidents, problems, changes, and requests.
- Assists in testing, evaluating, and deploying new IT solutions and projects.
- Follows and adheres to IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Participates in IT training and professional development activities.
- Manages hardware inventory and ensures proper disposal of obsolete equipment.
- Deploys and sets up new equipment and computer systems for end users.
- Performs other duties as required/assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in network and systems engineering, preferably in a Microsoft environment.
- Entry level IT certifications, such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , or Microsoft Technology Associate are a plus.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and take on challenges.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must possess FEMA 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications or the ability to obtain them within the first six (6) months of employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Basic knowledge of network protocols, devices, and security.
- Basic knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization.
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Basic knowledge of desktop support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to learn new technologies and skills quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
- Work environment is typically performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity and responsiveness to changes that include goals, priorities, and needs of the organization and position.
- The light work requires occasional exerting of up to 20 pounds of force and up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
- Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: manual dexterity, hearing, lifting, mental acuity, speaking, standing, talking, and visual acuity.
Salary : $62,566 - $81,328
