SUMMARY OF POSITION
The City of Pasco seeks a personable, strategic, and experienced engineering professional to serve as its next Senior Traffic Engineer. This position works to address traffic-related issues and improve the overall traffic flow in the city; playing a vital role in long-term transportation planning for the city, assessing future growth and development patterns, evaluating transportation infrastructure needs, and proposing improvements to accommodate increasing traffic demands.

Under the direction of the Public Works Director, perform complex traffic / transportation planning design and project management; plan, monitor, and control the design and analysis of complex traffic / transportation engineering studies, projects, budgets, and plan development; make presentations and represent the City on complex traffic / transportation engineering reviews. Participate in the plan review process for development, as well as the City's traffic safety, bicycle, and pedestrian programs.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Work is primarily performed in an office environment while stationed at a desk or in the field on project or construction sites. Field inspections may occur that would require walking, stooping and climbing where there is exposure to heavy equipment, noise, varying / extreme weather conditions, blowing dust, varying terrain and / or traffic.
