The ideal candidate for this position will have: / Key Responsibilities:
The Victim Advocate position is a civilian position within the Police Department and performs or assists with the following tasks:
- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention to via phone and/or in-person
- Explain information related to victim rights, criminal justice systems and community resources
- Aide victims in safety planning
- Guide victims through the legal and/or court processes
- Work collaboratively with law enforcement, medical personnel, courts, and community agencies
- Train/educate staff and the public to raise awareness about victim rights, Victim Assistance Unit and available services

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field. (i.e. Counseling, Psychology, Social Work and Criminal Justice or similar).
- Experience: 6 months – 1 years’ experience. Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
Salary : $27 - $33
