The ideal candidate for this position will have: / Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise with childcare best practices, equipment, regulations and requirements.
- Successful recruiting, planning and organizational developmental skills.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Experience in public sector budgeting, including revenue generation and expenditure tracking while remaining within budgetary parameters.
- Specific experience in before and after school care, preschool programming, summer programs and/or enrichment camps and workshops.
- Master problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- The ability to effectively manage your time, while utilizing your communication skills to achieve exceptional results.
- A strong passion and proven experience in effectively leading, motivating, and supporting a team of professionals. Their focus will be on delivering exceptional programming that empowers the youth of Peoria.
- The ideal candidate will have the ability to demonstrate initiative, a positive attitude, an exceptional work ethic, and the creativity to propose innovative ideas and explore new program offerings.
- A proven track record of preparing comprehensive analyses and technical information for department leadership.

Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent. Equivalent years of experience are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience for every one (1) year of education required.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years related experience.
- Obtain and maintain a valid class 1 fingerprint clearance card within 10 days of hire.
- CPR/First Aid certified within 1 year of hire.
- Negative TB test is required.
- Experience in a municipal or government setting.
- A minimum of three (3) years previous supervisory experience.
- Direct experience working with state licensed childcare programs such as licensing regulations and procedures through the AZ Department of Health Services.
