What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Inspector position at City of Pewaukee?
Our Building Inspection department seeks full or part time Building Inspectors to conduct building inspections, issue permits, and enforce building and zoning codes.

Representative duties and responsibilities of the role include:
- Review plans and/or specifications for new buildings, additions and alterations to existing structures both residential and commercial to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and ordinances as well as site plans and surveys for compliance with municipal building and zoning codes
- Assist residents, builders, and developers through the City’s permitting process including requirements for permit submittals, fees, and all processes that support the public in obtaining permits and other requested documentation. Issue building permits upon plan review completion with assistance from administrative staff.
- Inspect buildings during construction to ensure plan and code conformity.
- Inspect construction, HVAC, plumbing, erosion control and electrical installations for code compliance on 1 & 2 Family buildings. If commercially certified, inspect construction and HVAC for commercial buildings.
- Maintain inspection records and permits issued
