Your day as a Telecommunications Officer

As a Telecommunications Officer at the City of Pharr, you will play a crucial role in ensuring public safety by responding to all incoming emergency and non-emergency calls through telephone and the E9-1-1 system. This position involves answering forwarded lines from Public Utilities and Public Works after hours, addressing citizens' requests, and coordinating with necessary crews to provide timely assistance. You will maintain constant radio communication with emergency service personnel, ensuring efficient operations during critical situations. Additionally, you will uphold accuracy and confidentiality by maintaining police reports and documenting major offenses and property thefts. Your responsibilities will also include conducting specialized data entry into secured computerized frameworks, highlighting your attention to detail and professionalism in supporting the city's safety and operational functions.
