Job Description
1. Community Outreach : Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, parents, and other stakeholders to promote awareness of education initiatives and garner support.
2. Event Planning : Coordinate public events, workshops, forums, and town hall meetings related to education policy, programs, and services.
3. Collaboration : Work collaboratively with internal departments, educational institutions, government agencies, and advocacy groups to advance education-related goals and initiatives.
4. Feedback Collection : Collect and analyze feedback from stakeholders to inform decision-making processes and improve the effectiveness of education programs.
5. Volunteer Management : Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support education-related events and initiatives.
6. Data Tracking : Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, engagement metrics, and program outcomes to evaluate effectiveness and inform future strategies.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Proven experience in community outreach, public relations, or a similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with event planning and project management.
- Familiarity with education policy issues and the local education landscape.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and communication tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and meetings.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, communications, public relations, or a related field.

The successful candidate must be a city of Philadelphia resident within six months of hire
