What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Work Clinical Supervisor and School-Based Team Coordinator position at Penn GSE Office of School and Community Engagement?
The Penn GSE Office of School and Community Engagement is seeking an experienced Clinical Supervisor (LCSW) to help build, lead, and support a team of school- and site-based social service providers as part of an innovative, year-round college- and career-readiness program. This program, called The Academy at Penn, will serve two cohorts of students from the High School of the Future and Furness High School over the next five years, providing academic interventions, college and career advising and enrichment, and robust wraparound services to students, families, and staff.
This part-time, remote/hybrid role involves building and refining programming, supervising a team of social workers and counselors, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care.
The Clinical Supervisor will also play a key role in mentoring staff, fostering professional development, and collaborating with school leaders and community stakeholders to address student and community needs. We ask interested candidates to have proven experience and success in the following domains:
Leadership and Oversight
- Support the integration of socio-emotional and mental health services within the school’s framework.
- Provide direct service or crisis intervention support when necessary.
Program Development & Implementation
- Collaborate in designing and implementing school-based wraparound programming with the Academy team.
- Establish workflows, protocols, and best practices for comprehensive service delivery
Team Supervision and Training
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to social workers and counselors to support their licensure and professional growth.
- Facilitate regular team meetings and case consultations to enhance clinical efficacy.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between social work staff, school leadership, and community stakeholders.
- Build relationships with external service providers to strengthen referral networks.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and services to ensure student and family needs are met.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania required.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a clinical or school-based setting with some level of school-based experience.
- Expertise in trauma-informed practices and mental health service delivery.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in program development and managing interdisciplinary teams preferred.
