Hiring Range: $93,121.60 to $118,872.00 annually.

This division is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the financial systems.
The Accounting Supervisor Will Be Responsible For
- Supervising, coordinating, training, and evaluating the performance of a team of professional staff.
- Reviewing and evaluating accounting, financial reporting, and grant requirements from the system perspective for city-wide functions.
- Assisting departments by identifying, defining, and analyzing accounting and financial problems; and answering questions regarding accounting concepts, systems, cost accounting and legal interpretations relating to fiscal matters.
- Advising City departments on accounting and financial policies and technical procedures.
- Providing leadership and support for integration testing during patching, configuration changes, and upgrades.
- Providing leadership to staff coordinating user group requests, user acceptance testing, and maintaining enterprise support materials.
- Establishing department policies, procedures, and monitoring programs.
- Providing support for monitoring and implementing new pronouncements of the governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
- Identifying solution development processes and system integration techniques and troubleshooting.
- Learning and supporting all Bank products and interfaces into SAP (ACH, Single Use Account-SUA, warrants/payroll, etc.).
- Learning and supporting the Financial (FI) Inventory accounting processes.
- Leading and overseeing the implementation of the SAP Treasury module.

- Solution development processes and system integration techniques and troubleshooting.

- Acquires strong:
- Critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Interpersonal skills to engage team members, clients, and stakeholders and communicate business expectations to the technical development expert in ways they can produce desired outcome.
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of professional-level supervisory experience in governmental accounting or auditing.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, economics, or a related field.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Master's degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or business administration.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other professional accounting certification.
- Experience with:
- Analyzing and documenting specifications/instructions to develop appropriate systems and programs.
- SAP or other accounting software applications, including configuring and integration testing in SAP.
- Cross functional teams supporting large departmental and enterprise-wide programs/projects.
- Experience:
- Supervising or directing the work of others.
- Preparing financial statements and/or GAAP accounting experience.
- Coordinating and facilitating the design and implementation of automated accounting and financial systems.
- Working with internal and external business partners.
- Providing system support to internal staff and end users.
