ABOUT THIS POSITION
Over 50 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2024, one of the busiest airports in the country in the nation's 5th largest city. Sky Harbor is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports) which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an economic impact over $44 billion annually.
The Aviation Department is currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Electrical Facilities Supervisor to lead the airport's electrical teams as well as maintenance programs at Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports. This position is responsible for national and local electrical code compliance, working on and around active runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways and commercial facilities. This position interacts with staff supervisors, inspectors, Air Traffic Control staff, engineers, general contractors and their sub-contractors, local power utility engineers, maintenance staff, Divisional Managers, various Stakeholders and Airline Station Managers.
The Electrical Facilities Supervisor in addition to overseeing commercial facilities electrical systems will supervise the airfield electrical section's implementation of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circulars (AC), Airport Lighting System, airport planning, safety, Certification of Airports (Part 139), design, construction, and maintenance, while ensuring safe and reliable environmental compliance. Additionally, this position performs a variety of managerial and technical tasks including technical report writing, oversight of an operating budget of more than $8 million, planning, and cost estimating.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of project and workflow management.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance (NFPA70E, MSDS, safety, and environmental).
- Knowledge of and experience in commercial or industrial electrical systems and building codes.
- Knowledge of and experience implementing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circulars (AC).
- Proficient with Airfield Lighting Control Systems (ALCMS).
- Proficient in reading blueprints and electrical construction drawings.
- Proficient in the use of computers and multiple business software applications such as MS Office Programs, SAP, and CMMS (or other maintenance management programs).
SALARY
Pay Range: $84,468 to $124,800 annually.
Hiring Range: $84,468 to $102,668 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of experience as a skilled Electrician.
- Two years of experience supervising electrical maintenance crews.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Experience writing reports and technical scopes of work and/or contracts.
- Experience planning and managing large annual O&M and capital budgets.
- Experience with budget, procurement, contract development, and administration.
- Experience in overseeing code required work and preventative maintenance programs.
