About This Position

The position works Monday through Friday and is located at Phoenix City Hall. Teleworking may be available up to two days per week upon approval after six months in the position.

The Information Technology Systems Specialist (ITSS) will provide technical support for critical systems supporting the Public Works Department. This role involves troubleshooting, system administration, and process improvement to ensure the stability and performance of IT systems used in Solid Waste operations.

Responsibilities Include
- Providing technical support for Public Works systems, including software troubleshooting, hardware management, and vendor coordination.
- Supporting mobile device management, including configuration and troubleshooting of cellular devices.
- Assisting in system administration and maintenance of virtualized environments (VMware/VDI).
- Monitoring system performance and stability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Working closely with the technical leads to ensure successful system implementation and upgrades.
- Conducting business analysis and process mapping to improve workflows and system efficiency.
- Participating in site visits and supporting vendors with technical installations and maintenance.
- Reviewing and editing technical and procedural documentation for system configurations and workflows.
- Providing excellent customer service and technical assistance to Public Works staff.
- Preparing reports and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Supporting scale house technology, including point-of-sale systems and networking configurations.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Pay Range: $76,627.20 to $118,872.00 annually.

Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of responsible experience in technical systems software (i.e., data base management telecommunications and operating systems).
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in information systems, computer science, systems engineering or a related technical field.
- Studying operational workflows, performing business systems and data analytics, and identifying efficiencies.
- Writing SQL statements.
- IT Project and portfolio management.
- Supporting a virtual desktop infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
- Mobile Device(cellular) management (mobile devices, eBooks, eMedia resources, and technology).
- Providing application performance monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and optimization.
- System patch management, threat monitoring and remediation, and/or evaluating computer systems for security improvements.
- Implementing and overseeing process improvements, programs, and projects.
- Technical support / scale systems / POS and PC hardware troubleshooting.
- System, Technical, and Procedural Documentations. - software configuring or testing experience, including documentation
- Working and managing IT vendor's and providing external support.
