QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS:
Your City of Pittsburgh application will be reviewed and your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position. You will be sent an eligibility letter regarding your eligible/ineligible status.
- WORK EXPERIENCE: None required for this position. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, and web design (HTML or WYSIWYG) editor preferred.
- EDUCATION/TRAINING: Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student and taking classes in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate program; OR have graduated within the last 12 months. Students majoring in Computer Science, Information Science, Cybersecurity or enrolled in a degree program with a concentration in Information Technology preferred. Must have a minimum G.P.A of 3.0.

- Reviews and updates documentation for policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
- Researches and evaluates applications and services for use by the City of Pittsburgh. Provides a matrix when possible, detailing features within each different application or service.
- Provides assistance with the deployment and upkeep of the information security department’s website content.
- Provides first level compliance monitoring and investigations.
- Assists with forensics analysis and fact gathering.
- Assists with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for specific applications, services, networks and servers as required.
- Assists with applications/tools including but not limited to SIEM, IPS, Netflow, e-mail gateway protection, and DLP tools.
- Performs compliance audits against institutionally accepted security controls.
- Records and tracks IT security incidents, including but not limited to copyright violations, compromised accounts, e-mail threats, and abuse reports from various sources.
- Performs other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required.
