Water Safety Instructor (Swim Lead) and Head Water Safety Instructor

Create engaging and safe swim lesson instruction by creating an environment that focuses on fun, safety and inclusivity. Â

• Flexible shifts with daytime, evening and weekend hours.
• Part-time position, September - May, that will be no more than 29 hours per week.Â
• Locations: Wayzata East Middle School Pool and Wayzata West Middle School Pool.
• Training provided prior to program start dates.
  
  

Water Safety Instructor (Swim Lead)

While promoting swimmer safety, educate participants on proper swim skills and techniques. Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with department guidelines; maintain a controlled and safe learning environment for all participants.

Hourly Pay Range: $16.34 - $19.01

Head Water Safety InstructorÂ

Provide lead supervision of water safety instructors (swim leads). While promoting swimmer safety, educate participants on proper swim skills and techniques. Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with department guidelines; maintain a controlled and safe learning environment for all participants.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.15 - $21.12

• Plan, organize and direct activities for all ages in a recreation setting
• Provide support, as needed, for all participants and staff to create an inclusive environment
• Work as part of a team to ensure quality programs for all ages
• Follow staff policies and procedures, ensuring all staff and participants follow the established policies and procedures
• Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience for all participants

Required Qualifications

• Must be 15 years old by program start date
• Current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification

Qualifications

        Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old by program start date
• Current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
• Prior experience as a water safety instructor (swim lead)
• Supervisory experience
• First Aid and CPR certification
